I tried to make origami of my dog Jackie, this is what I have came out with. It was folded from 2 pieces of square papers. Still need some work on the body but I’m quite happy with the head. The next thing i want to do it to refine it and figure out the color placement on the paper for her face and ears. 🐶

In mid Nov 2015, my dog Jackie and I have teamed up to open a greeting card and print shop on Etsy for the dog lovers. :D So far we have 20 items in the shop and have sold over 60+ cards and a print! We sold lots of Christmas Cards in a very short period of time before Christmas, we are so pleased especially our little Jackie, she is getting even more treats for being such a great inspiration and assistant. :) We are working to add more of Jackie’s pals greeting cards for the different occasions to the shop.

Freebie! FREE Star and stripe pattern for your origami bag or project

Here are some star and stripe pattern (free PDF download) I reused from my last 4th of July project (Printable Paper Firework Rocket Pencil Toppers). I made it into a 6″ x 6″ square to fold it into these cute origami boxes/gift bags. The finished dimension is about 2″w x 2″h x 1.5″d. It’s quite small good for little things like sweets. If you like it bigger, you can enlarge it by setting the print size at 130% to get a 8″ x 8″ square just big enough to fit on a A4 or letter size paper. Please visit this link for the box/bag instruction. I didn’t use any tape at all, it holds up pretty well without the tape.

Enjoy and Happy 4th of July to those who celebrates!

A Break in the clouds – Solar Eclipse 2015

Thanks to the clouds for breaking at just the right time for me to capture the Solar Eclipse today! It was overcast and cloudy when I woke up, very typical England weather and I really didn’t expect the weather will change much. When I see the sun came out and clouds started to break around 9ish, I got a bit panic because I really want to capture this rare phenomenon but I didn’t have my gear ready! I able to get everything set up quickly and lucky enough to capture the half of it. :)

This last-minute Valentine’s Day card are super easy to put together and best of all it’s a keepsake bookmark. They won’t take you too much time and it definitely don’t look last-minute…at least to me. :) You could write a little message or a secret message in the bookmark.

Cut a slit on the card that’s long enough to insert the bookmark.
The bookmark is long, i fold it in half and tuck it under
the heart shape so the end doesn’t stick out at the bottom of the card.

6″ x 6″ Chiyogami paper, cut into half, you can make 2 origami heart bookmarks.
10″ x 5″ card stock, fold in half to make a 5″ x 5″ card

I received this cute and delicate needlebook gift from Barbara, my dear friend in Atlanta. Such a wonderful surprise! She created this needlebook with the fabric i designed on Spoonflower. She made 10 of these to send it to all of our friends who have left FA (Finished Art), the company in Atlanta where I used to work.

“But thinking about all of our friends who have left FA, this little gift became a token of friendship, fond memories, and lasting goodwill to share. Please enjoy!” – Barbara H. Dorn

I love all the thoughts Barbara has put into this needlebook, below are some photos I want to share with you.
