I tried to make origami of my dog Jackie, this is what I have came out with. It was folded from 2 pieces of square papers. Still need some work on the body but I’m quite happy with the head. The next thing i want to do it to refine it and figure out the color placement on the paper for her face and ears. 🐶

This last-minute Valentine’s Day card are super easy to put together and best of all it’s a keepsake bookmark. They won’t take you too much time and it definitely don’t look last-minute…at least to me. :) You could write a little message or a secret message in the bookmark.

For Origami Heart Bookmark instruction, click here.

Cut a slit on the card that’s long enough to insert the bookmark.
The bookmark is long, i fold it in half and tuck it under
the heart shape so the end doesn’t stick out at the bottom of the card.

And here’s how it looks on a book.

Super easy enough right? I think it’s great for your friends or family who love to read too. Happy Valentine’s Day! x

6″ x 6″ Chiyogami paper, cut into half, you can make 2 origami heart bookmarks.
10″ x 5″ card stock, fold in half to make a 5″ x 5″ card
a craft knife to cut the slit

Make a snowman without snow – Paper snowman!

Here’s a fun and quick project to make an indoors paper snowman using  2 inflatable origami water balloon (instruction). I like everything miniature, so i made mine super tiny with 2 pieces of square paper, 3″ x 3″ for the head and 4″ x 4″ for the body. Glue them together and use ribbon to make the scarf. Make a little cone with orange paper for the nose, if you don’t have orange paper, just paint it with color pencil or orange sharpie. I use glue stick to glue the nose. Then draw the eyes.

Isn’t the snowman cute? Hope you have fun making it. :)

My Wedding Invitation

I came across the origami heart a while back by Amy Moss over at Eat Drink Chick. I really like the idea and thought i would do something similar with a few tweaks. While spending time thinking about the design,  I happened to watch the movie “In Her Shoes” on tv and totally fall in love with the poem Cameron Diaz read at her sister’s wedding – I carry your heart with me by Edward Estlin Cummings. And that’s how i got the idea of using the quote and adding the little pink heart to the big one.

i carry your heart with me (i carry it in
my heart) i am never without it (anywhere
i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling)
i fear
no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want
no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows
higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart)
