Hello, I’m excited to share something new with you – I’m going live on YouTube for the first time!
I’ll be making one of my favourite little paper crafts: origami heart paper clips.
There’s something I really love about these. A plain metal paper clip is useful, of course, but covering it with a little piece of patterned paper makes it feel much more special. I love having a little bit of colour and pattern peeking out from the pages of a book, notebook, sketchbook or artwork.

From paper scraps to little hearts
For this live stream, I’ll be using some of my leftover decorated paper scraps. I’m always reluctant to throw away small pieces of paper, especially when they have a lovely pattern on them, so this is a great way to give those little scraps another life.
I’ll show you how I cut the paper into squares and then fold each one into a little heart. I’ll also show you how to insert different sizes of paper clips, so you can make them to suit whatever you want to use them for.
And the nice thing is that you don’t need much to make them.

What you’ll need
- Decorated paper scraps (at least larger than 10 cm in both directions)
- Paper slightly thicker than Kami paper — around 70–80 GSM works well
- A pencil
- A ruler
- Scissors or a craft knife
- A cutting mat if you’re using a craft knife
- A few different sizes of paper clips
You can use any patterned or decorated paper you like, so this is also a great little project for using up scraps from other paper projects.

Come fold with me!
This will be my first ever YouTube Live, so I have to admit I’m feeling a little nervous!
I’m hoping it will be a relaxed and informal session where we can fold together, chat a little and enjoy making something simple with paper. You’re very welcome to fold along with me, or just come and watch.
